AEON GUIDE

My complete review of Aeon Guide.

I gave the AEON GUIDE for Star Wars The Old Republic three and a half stars.  The reason they didn’t rank higher is they have separate guides for the Republic and the Empire.  So if you plan on playing both you need to buy both guides and they are a little pricey. The first thing I noticed about the Aeon Guide is it is exactly what their site promotes it to be. That is to say, it is written not just by gamers but by some of the best gaming gurus out there. They know the critical information other players need of to make the most out of SWTOR .

That being said the Aeon Guide has done all the math, all the min/max calculations, all the best in slot gear selections for you to come up with the absolute best builds and rotations for PvPing, tanking, healing and DPSing each and every class in the game.  Oh, and did I mention they also have a complete leveling guide as well?

What to look for when buying a SWTOR Guide:

  • Does it give you step-by-step leveling instructions?
  • Does it give you the best builds for your class and spec?
  • Does it teach you how to PvP against any other class in the game?
  • Does it give you the best PvP builds for your class and spec?
  • Does it cover all of the Flashpoints in the game with walkthroughs?
  • Does it explain all of the Operations in the game with Boss tactics for each fight?
  • Does it tell you how to quickly maximize your professions?
  • Does it explain how your companions work and how to maximize their affection?
  • Does it teach you how to make millions of credits?
  • Does it explain all of the little details in the game you would otherwise miss?
  • Is it updated regularly?
  • Does it have a money back guarantee?
Does it give you step-by-step leveling instructions?
Yes it does. The leveling builds and rotations you get from Aeon guides are tested and proven to be the fastest leveling builds possible. Don’t waste hard earned credits with trial and error when you could get it right the first time with Aeon.
Does it give you the best builds for your class and spec?
Yes it does. Their set of class guides are specifically designed to show you exactly where to put every talent point and when and how to use all your spells/abilities. You will be confident that you are using the best build and best rotation for whatever you want to do.
Does it teach you how to PvP against any other class in the game?
Yes it does. It will tell you exact counters to use against every other class in the game. From when to stun your opponent to using your finishing moves. Learn how to make sure you are prepared to take on multiple opponents single handed in any warzone.
Does it give you the best PvP builds for your class and spec?
Yes it does. Aeon Guide offers you proven, tested and highly effective PVP builds. No matter what your class is or your play style is, they have builds that are perfect for each and every PVP battle you step into.
Does it cover all of the Flashpoints in the game with walkthroughs?
No it does not.  It does go over what the best builds are and has guides specifically designed for tanking and healing but it does not walk you through each of the games flashpoints like other guides do.
Does it explain all of the Operations in the game with Boss tactics for each fight?
No it does not.  Again, it covers end game content mostly in what builds and rotations you should be using and what gear drops you should be rolling on, but it doesn’t walk you through the Operations and Bosses.
Does it tell you how to quickly maximize your professions?
No it does not.  The guide is focused almost entirely on improving your character and making you the best possible Tank/Healer/DPS you can be.  It doesn’t go into detail on  the side aspects of the game.
Does it explain how your companions work and how to maximize their affection?
No it does not. Again, it’s main focus is perfecting your character and getting the most of your abilities.  It doesn’t cover companions in any detail.
Does it teach you how to make millions of credits?
No it does not.  It is not a credit making guide at all.  It strictly focuses on the details other guides miss regarding stats and gear choices.
Does it explain all of the little details in the game you would otherwise miss?
No it does not.  Aeon Guides is not concerned with whether you are riding on a pretty mount when you’re circling the space station.  They are more concerned with the damage you do once you get off that mount.
Is it updated regularly?
Yes it is. Their information stays up to date with all the patches, hotfixes, and expansions. They are on top of each classes buffs and nerfs and immediately have new builds or rotations ready for you depending on how your character was effected.
Does it have a money back guarantee?
No it does not.  What they say on their website is “Satisfaction Guaranteed. We guarantee our guides will give you the information you want and need. If you are looking for some specific information, submit a request and we’ll add it to our members area.” But they do not mention any refund if you decide not to keep the guide.
Here are more of my thoughts on the pros and cons of Aeon Guide.

Aeon recognized the first point of confusion many players would have is the enormous amount of options and combinations that make up the customizable talent tree. So they took all the trial and guess work out of this for you by showing you just what each point does what and exactly what points you need to choose to get the build that will maximize your playing style. Whether you are solo questing, tanking, healing or dealing out the DPS, The Aeon Guide helps you use and understand your spells and abilities to get the most out of your talent tree.

PVP is huge in SWTOR. The Aeon Guide deAEON LEVELING GUIDE for Starwars the old republiclivers there too. They’ve taken the guess work out of creating a super effective build that works for whatever class and playing style you chose. You actually get to enjoy the game rather than having to focus on the constant tweaks and adjustments of the trial and error method.

What you should know is there is no PDF download, there is no book. These guides are web based. The good thing about that is everything is immediately updated whenever a patch or hot-fix goes into place. The next time you access your guide, these guys at Aeon have already got your guide all nice and up to date. No more worries about that old PDF that has a bunch of non-applicable info anymore. They supplement their written guide with both images and videos. So, you have plenty of visuals to go along with the instructions they set out.

I will also tell you that while they commit to saving you credits by guiding you to the right places for the best gear, there is no specific guide to making any extra credits or maximizing the GTN. But they are always updating, as I already mentioned so this may still be in the works. Also, I’d love to see them include a Commendations Guide as well as an Operations Guide. Since this was written by the top gamers that they are, I can only assume they will keep up with the lifetime of updates which come with the single purchase price.

Any complaints about the guide?

The biggest complaint about the guide is also it’s biggest strength.  It is not an all purpose guide so it leaves a lot of things out.  But it is a HIGHLY intense leveling and playing guide.  So what Aeon Guide decided to focus on they do better than any other guide on the market.  Think of them as a niche guide designed more to make you a better player than to show you where every vanity pet in the game is located.

Where can you get more information about Aeon Guide?

The best place to get more information about AEON Guide is at their website. They go into more detail about the creators of the guide and whether you think it will be the right fit for you.  Now updated for level 55!
